По информации ресурса Wards Auto, пикап Toyota Tundra 2016 модельного года получит очень интересную опцию, а именно 5,0-литровый турбодизельный двигатель V8 Cummins. Следующее поколение Nissan Titan будет использовать аналогичный агрегат и Dodge RAM похоже тоже

Diesel Power was on-hand this week in Columbus, Indiana, as Cummins announced their state-of-the-art powerhouse, the ISV5.0 V8 5-liter diesel engine. Packed full with all of the latest Cummins technology, this fuel efficient engine is suited for pickup and delivery vehicles, school buses, light- and medium-duty trucks and motorhomes. It has great midrange and drivability, and reportedly has little lag. Cummins combustion technology contributes to its cleanness and efficiency. This engine will be manufactured at the Columbus Engine Plant, starting during the fourth quarter of 2014. Интересно - а не значит ли отказ выпускать Tundra на дизеле, что будет Tundra на батарейках или гибрид? Вот TESLA то уже поехала вполне, у меня товарищ в штатах уже в октябре будет гонять на такой...
И кажется тут объединение BMW и TOYOTA в гибридном машиностроении очень может этому поспособствовать...
